Inventor Douglas Hines has almost made this a possibility. But instead of strings, there are wires. Hines has created Roxxxy, a talking, moaning robot that is meant to resemble a real woman. Romance Is Boring, the latest album from Los Campesinos!, brilliantly proves that while traditional romance might be dull, relationships are anything but. Chuck Klosterman knows more than you. Eating the Dinosaur, his collection of essays released in October, will have you convinced. Unless you want to talk hip-hop, Atlanta is rarely thought of as a great locale for finding the best of what’s next. But this stereotype will be proven wrong tonight at WMRE’s Localsfest, a yearly event featuring bands from the Atlanta area. A few weeks ago, I was at a bar, talking with a few friends. In most ways, it was a normal night out, until I was caught off guard by something very not-normal: a hand on my breast. Alison Sudol, better known as the backbone of A Fine Frenzy, makes a valiant effort with her forthcoming Sept. 8 release, Bomb in a Birdcage, but the end result is a generally safe album that has little kick to it. The part-documentary, part-scripted Sundance film “Paper Heart” follows cynical Charlyne Yi across the country in a quest to learn about love.
